As it is they give me these annoying pages that open up ( especially when I have to open up a new link ), asking me if I would like to purchase more gb data or go with my plan.

Today I received a sms saying that my BB package has been bumped up from 1099 to 1200!

For a 4 mbps till 10GB and 256 kbps after that plan!!!!

    This is enough.

I am calling them and downgrading to the 600 wala plan or doing away completely!!

This is absolutely not done. And that too for a 4 year old connection!

The BSNL connection is not reliable enough.

However with 1200+ taxes its going to be 1400+, I think I am better off without it.

Anyone else also got these kinda updates?

    Any options in Gurgaon? sigh....

Leave Gurgaon and come here to Broadband heaven .. :D

Actually the Govt. has hiked the license fee for all ISP so they are rolling out a hike across all plans.

Airtel just reported its quarterly numbers and they're not good. Basically they're paying the price of playing the price war too aggressively along with regulatory screw ups and policy decisions and now are just hard pressed to maintain their margin across the business. The telecom industry is in a mess (apart from aviation, power, manufacturing, mining... you name it) and some amount of revenue boosting across units is top priority for Airtel right now i guess.

Though it makes me think, of all the players, Airtel has tried and succeeded with a lot of over the top advertising from radio to print to television. Wouldnt it help them to scale it back a bit? Their latest "internet hai to sharing hai" campaign is everywhere.. wonder whats the cost they're biting on that

massive. However now I am further pissed, since I do not like them changing my browsing window ( that too as soon as I click on something ), to their airtel data selection window.

They have bumped my plan from 1099 to 1200 ( 4 mbps till 10 gig ), and they are offering a 1199 plan on their site ( 4 mbps till 15 gb! ).

its all revenue optimization at play in the background ;) screw the customers (mostly existing) and tempt or honeytrap new signups with discounts/cheaper plans etc lol.

Yup, but now I am going to tell them to disconnect it or shift me to a lower plan.

No such sms to me. I have been on a 1399/- plan. Although i am fed up of it too. It keeps disconnecting now and then. Get standard reply from cc everytime. Although today the lineman is saying that the internal wiring in my building has worn out. me thinks its just a lame excuse coz i have a mtnl too which is working fine on the same building wires

It could be, I have seen my dsl connection suffer as a result of rain and earthing and distubance, but simplest check is if your telephone line is clear, then there should not be an issue with your dsl as well.

I am currently reviewing other providers in the area ( reliance maybe ).

Telephone line has some static disturbance since the last 1.5 years but the net was working absolutely fine till a couple of weeks back. I have asked him to replace the wires. Lets see then.

25gb for 999/- with fupped speed of 1mbps is good. Airtel reduces 4mbps to 256kbps after hitting fair usage level

yup, other option is to as for a separate new line right from the junction box to your telephone/splitter. I had to get that done eventually, since the wiring in the house had gone bad.

    Which service provider??
If it is reliable, then why don't you get that plan. Looks very good...but be careful, Looks can be deceptive.

No, no...I would suggest you to die without Internet rather than going for Tikona.
