Ohk, this would raise a lot of eyebrows.
First Match tonight at 0130 IST! Brazil vs Croatia.
Here's the official schedule -
Tell me how you love football and follow it all year round
No I do not follow it all year round and at this point I hate football.
But WC is pretty cool event, it suckers you in.in 2012 I resolved to visit Brasil, but I don't disenchanted around 2013, so that never happened.
What annoys me is how India and Indians go crazy over football during the WC and seem to become a cousin of Brazil, just because of the great Brazilian football history.
and if asked they have no idea even who is the goal keeper of brazil ...
eeees-pain vs holland ... last years finals !! .. . go holland !! robben !
They don't know shit. Ronaldo plays for Spain.
and few are supporting Manchester united this WC ... and mind it .. theres only 1 ronaldo ... even ronaldinho is just a nickname
LOL.. Times of India .. just about a couple of years back..
Ran an article on Christiano Ronaldo and stuck a pic of Brazil's Ronaldo on it..
Here's the TOI Cover..
That is very douchey thing to say, They can follow whoever they want. I know some people follow football more often than others but acting like ?#@*&%!^$~ about is no better. Besides if they are having fun while supporting X country then it should be acceptable.
you are acting here like ZOMG I know some much more about football, I am so much better than you posers, who support brazil, get over yourself.
The poser issue is a serious concern, since people who'll never post anything about football, will suddenly start going crazy on social networks.
I do enjoy the WC, but mostly the final matches. It's good entertainment, like the IPL, but I'm not really rooting for a team, till I probably follow their matches or progress in the tournament.
That is alright I suppose JD, but assuming that just because you support Brasil you don't know anything about football is tier 1 asshattery.
Some of these ?#@*&%!^$~ers were in liquid form when I started watching the game
It isn't about whoever supports Brazil automatically qualifies as a poser, but I just think that Indians try too hard to walk with the world, they watch FIFA WC and "support" Brazil for the sake of watching football because the whole world is watching football.
I have many friends Indian/non-Indians who watch football all year round and then definitely do watch FIFA as well, but also know plenty of guys/gals that do not and have absolutely no interest in the world cup either. It seems as if we bend to the social pressure, that so many people are watching football, then why not us. We should take pride in our choices, such as going crazy over cricket and not be posers during the world cup. I mean I have faced questions like: "Where is Kaka/Ronaldinho?", "Why is Spain not playing Messi/Ronaldo?", "OMG, Holland beat Spain, but they are such minnows!".
