A father was forced and troubled by Orange to pay for his son's contract phone, even though his son had just recently died in an accident. They went to the extent of suggesting that he sell off the phone to pay the contract! Father's fury at Orange after they insist he has to keep paying for his 14-year-old's Blackberry after he jumped to his death | Mail Online
The Blackberry belonged to the Father and was purchased under his name and then given to his son. Orange were pursuing the full payment of the contract and offered a one time settlement suggesting the father sell the phone to end the contract. The father insisted on cancelling his contract prematurely because of his son's death. The Article Headline is a sensationalist .. though the behaviour of the Orange Customer Service wasn't that outrageous as its being portrayed. The father is obviously under a lot of emotional stress and lashed out first at the Customer Service.
Orange are mean bunch of people but they should be forgiven as they were only fighting for their money. The father owns money to orange and he should pay them even if his no-life kid died texting or playing games on the phone. Money owned should be returned. Father can bang wife and make another kid, no big deal but how will orange recover their money? Parents these days are a bunch of thugs, using son's death as a pretext not to pay the hardworking orange guys. Without orange others might not be able to use phones at all - we should keep this in mind.
