Xiaomi will be launching (on May 10th) a smart tracker/communicator of sorts for kids. It is called the Mi Bunny, available in 2 colors (currently) and is priced at 299 Yuan or about 3000 Rs INR. The band is similar to the Allergy free band seen on the Mi Band. The photo above suggests a unique charging port, similar to the Mi Band again. This is how big it appears/seems to be in size. Features and functions are still forthcoming, however it does pack the following - - 300 mAH battery that should last 6 days or so. - Wi-Fi connectivity for Mi calling (Xiaomi proprietary) - SIM support for independent operation. - Support for GPS and GLONASS (Built in receivers) - Ability to track/send and receive location via 2G data - Geofencing - SOS mode with location and 7 seconds of audio - Pre-set calling/conversation with upto 12 numbers programmed thru App. - Low power dissipation, making it safe for children. The Geo fencing works in terms of altitude as well (or so the graphic above suggests). Good for people who live in high rises. Tracking on maps real time. More details are yet to come, but I wouldn't mind using this as a vehicle tracker (if it supports speed as well). Waiting for this to be ported to Google Maps/rest of the world. I could simply hook it up to the USB port in my car and leave the watch in a location where it can receive a GPS signal. At 3k this makes for a device that I know will work, compared to the other GPS trackers I ordered and tested.
