So, after sleeping for all this time, Sony has taken a big step in the right direction. Have a look at the latest flagship from Sony - Xperia Z

    xperia-z-black-1240x840-fc46866d549b883db7ff0ee3d7329e77-opt.png sony-xperia-z-flat-angle-sny-xpz.jpg xperia-z-display-slideshow-opticontrast-5-1240x760-29f5bb8136ca8a9846d542a21f7d951d-620x380.jpg

A full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 5" Screen with Bravia 2 Engine, Splash Resistant and Dust proof, 2 GB Memory and a Quad Core processor. 13 MP camera with HDR Video/Images with Burst mode (FPS unknown as of now), Will come with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 with an update to 4.2 is in pipeline.

Looks pretty slick to me (Apple fans will find it appealing I guess) and comes with more than enough horsepower which is expected from a Flagship. Its the second phone i have seen after my Defy which comes with IP57 certification (Water resistant and Dust proof) and hence it gets my vote. Expensive phones like this should come with this feature, will make people like me sleep better at night :p

The Expected Launch Date in India is 24th Feb, will be in stores by the 26th. Price will be at par with Flagships from other manufacturers, i.e. ~36k, which is a really great price for this Beauty, IMO.

Its the first Sony phone, in a long long time, which has managed to generate any interest from me. Sony has really done a big favor to themselves this time, as the competition is getting tougher every week.

Here is a well made advert from them which suits this phone very well (Recommended to watch this in 720 resolution :

    Certainly there ..

Amongst the available phones . the Galaxy Note II hold the crown.
After the Xperia Z becomes available I think both of them will hold the top spot together.

The difference between the two being that Sony has excelled at the hardware while Samsung has been leading the Android Software experience.

Multiview - Smart-stay - Floating Windows - S Pen have really enhanced the usability of Android.

Sony is going back to its strong engineering roots .. the result of which we see right now as the XZ.

Ola !! This does look slick.
But the specs sound too familiar and similar to Butterfly.
Except for the 8MP vs 13MP Cam, I would say Butterfly is definitely better looking of the two.

Here, found a comparison chart: Sony Xperia Z VS Htc Butterfly.

    Looks are preferential..
I prefer the looks of this. :) Butterfly looks too generic :(
Besides.. what kinda name is butterfly for a phone? LOL
Also, Butterfly is being replaced soon (within 2 months) by HTC with the M7

If I ever move back to Android.. I'm getting this one :)
(Hope it comes out fast.. so it can drop in price faster)

Not in terms of internal HW.. the SIV will most likely have the 4+4 core SoC powered by A15s

but the body construction and water proof design will still be quite desirable.
