http://www.toshiba-india.com/laptop/tecra-r850-viewmodel.html should be around 51-52k http://www.toshiba-india.com/laptop/tecra-r840-i5-viewmodel.html This one is 61-62, but only 1.9kgs At the lower end - http://www.toshiba-india.com/laptop/satellitePro_s750-viewmodel.html Around 41 for one model and 44-45 for the other model.
laptops are overhyped .... but still if u wanna get one ... i say ..we need to plaan ... ! dont hurry !
dbg, go with this eyes closed ! I suggested this to a friend of mine and he is so happy !! that time it was around 42K only so that mafe it all the more worthy !! but even now, it is better than the ones which are close to 75K !!! yes its that good... http://www.flipkart.com/asus-k53sm-...DV4F&ref=27698696-7baa-4d82-898e-b8d47dc7d458
Or if you are sure taht yo uonlywant i5 then go look for these !! http://www.flipkart.com/search-lapt...filter=processor:Intel+2nd+Generation+Core+i5
harryneopotter - I need a laptop due to living space constraints .. I have a 2 month window to buy it in .. so I'm not in a hurry. ManISinJpr - Core i5 or higher. (preferring core i5 to keep the cost down) Screen should have high resolution, 1366 x 768 Pixel on 15.6" screen looks terrible IMO. So either smaller screen size or higher resolution. @all / Luciffer - Serious advice only please.
So that is what I have suggested and that is a personal user suggestion, I have used this laptop that I have suggested !!
Thanks ,, I'll check out the ASUS-K53M .. Awesome specs .. , just the screen size/resolution is a downer. Will it be cheaper at ASUS retail outlets ?? Also , I have a couple of months on my hands ..
OK.. dbg... made fun of you enough But only cuz we all wuv you But seriously... In case you just want a lappy.. To get work done... but don't care much about the latest greatest specs... then I could get you one cheap... like under 12K for a decent lappy .. from brand name companies. Sadly.. i5+ .. I cannot do. My guys rarely have those... and if they do.. I'll take them myself Unless you want Apple Then I can get you one really cheap. PS: Wait.. would you be interested in 1-2 yr old DELLs at appox 1/2 original price? (with Bill + Remaining warantee)
Luciffer - I care about the specs .. decent computing performance is required as this will be my primary system. Gaming/Graphics is not a priority, just enough to play 1080p video smoothly. A used beefy DELL XPS or similar would be great.. with bill & warranty as you mentioned. Even I am bugging my friends to sell his XPS to me (XPS 15 - 1.5 yr old with Core i5 + 4 GB + 500 GB + 1920x1080 display + 9 cell battery giving 4 hrs now Original MRP: 62k). How does this sound for 40k ?
1.5 year old first gen core i5.. !!! Too pricey dbg !!! leave it and get teh Asus I mentioned !! listen to me as I have used that !! the screen is superb, although its not 1080 but its still vibrant and bright !!
