Compared to year on year vs last year, it's been a grim scene for the Auto Industry.

Stats posted by SIAM, (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers ) mention these figures.

No wonder A car Dealer in Gujrat is promising a Hatch Back free with a New Sedan ( But after 5 years ).

What it spells out for the buyer -

Time for discounts, freebies, and great interest schemes.

What it spells out for the Manufacturers -

They need to kick up the marketing, and get sales rolling if nothing.

What it means for the Industry -

Job cuts, Lesser increments, lower number of promotions, no hiring.

BTW, such a drop was last seen in 2000 (40%)

Interestingly, in follow up, Maruti has shut production at their Gurgaon plant for 2 days. Specifically Petrol vehicles.
