Hi folks, So I've been using and HDFC bank account as my primary account for 3 over years now. Served me faithfully. Now I have the option to switch to a Citibank Account. Seems simple enough at first glance, Citibank is more renowned etc with better service. I am mainly interested in the Online Shopping bit and NEFT. HDFC Credit card has worked on most intl. retailers like Google, Amazon but its NEFT is pretty slow. What are the added benefits if Citibank over HDFC and any potential cons. vasishta.sushant RajaPraveen JD666 SumitB Thanks -dex
Citibank is definitely better than HDFC. Only problem (might not be with you) is minimum balance requirement is One lakh AFAIK. Citibank's online banking is amazing!
I would go with Axis ( disclaimer, I have an account with them ). Fastest payee registration, and payment transfer. The Android app makes banking even more easier. My vote, Axis. --- Double Post Merged, Mar 7, 2013 --- To add, getting thru to customer care is faster in Axis, than HDFC atleast. Dunno about Citi.
My suggestion would be to go with Citi. Better, call each one of the banks, and tell em you wanna open an account with them, see if they offer any freebies!
The ?#@*&%!^$~ers have recently made it mandatory to keep 100, 000 Rs as minimum balance from 25,000/- 4 times!!!! I have been using citi for over years, they are good but bloody expensive
I have had accounts in almost all private banks and out of which i prefer these in the given order. 1,Citi 2,Standard Chartered 3,HSBC But for depositing large sums of money and keeping it idle or very rarely transacting i like SBI.
