HI ! Need to buy an SLR camera for dad. Has to be Nikon. This is going to be is 2nd SLR (He used Yashika SLR for a decade ! ) Pointers - 1. Buying from abroad of any good ? If yes then from which all countries ? 2. If not, then from where to buy from in Gurgaon ? 3. Which model to look for in 30k types budget. 4. Would prefer with stand & additional lenses ( or feature to upgrade in future ) Please advice.

Well, consulted with few user...said more or less its the same. But my dad somehow has this soft corner for Nikon. So i would stick to Nikon. When do you plan to buy ? I have the option of buying it from US, so I'm also considering buying a factory refurb if there is a good price difference. If I buy it from the US, then I'd be buying after 18th July, from India then before 18th July.

Most definitely not,Canon does make some better camera's than Nikon when it comes to PNS.In the world of SLR's its a completely different story altogether. In fact if you put this out for in a poll with proper backing of proof in a world wide photography forum, Nikon will win with flying colors. Everyone knows this including all canon owners. As of now Nikon D4 is the best full frame camera on the planet. Having said all this i must say 550D is a better camera than D3100 in still photography but D3200 is way better than 550D in everything.
