This guy Ramesh Raskar, has invented a camera which can literally capture a beam of light, which travels at 300 million meters per second. They have photographed the light as it moves. Its just truly amazing. The camera can record this visually enthralling spectacle at TRILLION FRAMES PER SECOND. Awesome video!
Technically its not trillion frames per second .. its more like collating a million photographs at different time intervals and creating an elaborate simulation.
Have not seen the video ( still waiting for it to buffer ). But On a technical note, there would be an extremely distorted image that would be created, since light from the source would reach the sensor, and it would be ready to take the next image ( a fps shot is essentially multiple images taken at the same time right? ) I agree with dbg here.
The video discussed here is an actual camera that shoots at such fast frame rates !! It is not computer wizardry !! that is why it was a ground breaking experiment. Read the quote again dbg read about that in the link above
So it actually captures it at that rate. wow! this is super something. though I wonder what the sensor time, light capture rate etc would be.
