IN mocking voice : *i got a new big ass plasma TV*
Congrats dude, i will post my raspberry pi to make you suckers jealous.
What are the inherent benefits of plasma that you all are so excited about, it is higher energy consuming device which runs hotter.
Black levels dude. That alone is far big a difference.
1 year i say
Dude, even i thought the same. But LED is just extra bright ligth, the real image/true colors is till date in plasma only.
Everything about a plasma is exciting.
When you buy a television most important priority(the only priority for me personally) is picture quality, higher energy consumption and running hotter don't matter that much.I would rather not buy a television than buying one for the sake of saving power and end up with mediocre picture.
Also if people blindly think plasma's consume a lot of power just like that then they are just not very aware of how it works, plasma consumes the maximum power while displaying whites but in normal viewing it consumes less than half its rated max power consumption.
A CFL back light IPS based LCD panel consumes a lot of power and runs very hot but does not mean people wont make all top end monitors sold in the world right now using this same technology.
I would love to have you around if I buy one whenever that is.. coz I also have seen ( black levels aside ) these IPS screens etc as being very good..
I know that Plasma is superb and you have made me switch over my choices to Plasma, specially as there prices are coming down.
