Closed face helmet definitely. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 3, 2012 --- Thats the thrill of it if noone dies
i was trying hard to remember the name of this cramster. These guys make good stuff. Check their entire line-up. Gloves etc everything. Damn good stuff.
Yep, I do need gloves, but do not know which size would fit ( am sure it would be Small, though still, since I would be riding for a long time, want to try em on before making the purchase ). I think a visit to Karol Bagh is needed for this. I loved it when I saw it, however the bike's tank is ABS, no metal stuff for it to get clipped onto. I Love the backpack, but am not sure if I should invest in it as well, with the saddlebags. If only the Stallion model fitted my bike. Rockfella - Dude, can one get racks installed at Manali? ( Carrier racks? ), and stuff like jerry cans for petrol, and bungee cords etc? I don't want to lug em around from Gurgaon. Other option is we will be in Chandigarh.
Yes you can. One particular garage there ... he serviced my bullet, did some magical shiz, i was on it at 11pm on empty roads of Manali when my friends were partying.... was just enjoying it 'coz it felt like it feels after second service u know... but i forgot the garage's name...

Thanks fo Called up the guy in satya niketan. He's got the saddle bags and gloves! Yippee! Will be visiting him in a couple of hours. Now Pending immediate purchase items are - Knee pads, balaclava. Hehe, you fit in everywhere baby. Just that this is something I cannot take you along on. Besides You can always take a flight to Leh and join us there!
Though a word for Adventure 18 if you guys are reading this ( Shanti Niketan store ). The salesperson were extremely dull and un-interested in selling. I actually had to tell him, that Boss you got a problem or something, that you are not interested in attending to a customer or be responsive enough. And sad part was, no discount what so ever. Take it or Leave it. Sad attitude.
JD666 All Black and ready to go .. One question(n more) .. how do you guys plan such multi-day trips. 1. Different bikes hold different amount of fuel and give different avg. so how do you synchronize your riding distance and refueling? 2. Do you go city to city during day and sleepover in a hotel/lodge ? 3. What your plan for mechanical failures and in case of injury. ?
That is being worked out atm. However the easiest solution is to always carry spare fuel with you, and tank up at whichever pump you reach. For eg the RD would require a tank up around 120-140 kms, and the Duke around 200 Kms. The Avengers, I am guessing, however would be able to go 250-280 kms between tank fulls. So essentially we need to have atleast 20 litres of fuel each ( carried extra, on board ) 2) The itenary is yet to reach me, however the plan is as you said, city to city during the day time and stopping at a hotel or a campsite. 3) Most of the needed spares would be carried ( spark plugs, clutch cable, clutch lever, throttle cable etc ). However in the event of any unforseen mishap, rendering the bike unusable, only option would be to truck it to lower regions like manali/Simla, and then on then transport it by train.
