    What do I need?

    1. A 1080p TV , preferably smart one so that I can use Netflix, Hulu etc from TV.
    - Ethernet and Wifi are must on TV.
    - Atleast 2 HDMI ports.
    - Audio out.
    - size ~50'-55'.

    2. A receiver
    - HDMI
    - wireless
    - dlna
    - Airplay???
    - Great sound o/p.

    3. Floor speakers
    - Neutral, no extra bass.
    - Accurate.
    - Active or passive doesn't matter, as long as I have receiver.

Please suggest if you guys have any experience with HT.

Budget for all this is <$1500.

My suggestion would be to get a TV with a good screen in as big size as possible, along with a solid performing audio setup. DOn't waste money on the smart-ness of the TV, Wireless, DLNC, Airplay on the receiver, look for the core, good visuals on TV, good audio on receiver/speakers. Then setup up an HTPC.

I would go with the same recommendation, invest in a good media player instead of a smart TV, much cheaper.

Plus you should be able to get a 50-55 inch for about 400-450$. That gives you a whole 1k to play with for your HTIB/component setup.

For the HT, I would recommend this Yamaha, supports 4K resolution, Apple play etc -

Decent power at 115W per channel + gives your Floor standers.

I know you would not like em, but still should recommend considering the durability and warranty support -

Amazon.com: Bose Acoustimass 6 series 5 speaker with Pioneer 5.1 channel 3D and network ready AV receiver & Dock Bundle: Electronics

    Supports Airplay and DLNA etcc.

However, if you can really push the budget, then there isn't a better deal (online at the very least) than this setup -
Amazon.com: Polk Audio TSi300 5.1 Speaker Package With Yamaha RX-V477 5.1 Network AV Receiver With Airplay: Electronics

Also, what is the floor area? Room size?

    What brand sound bar?

The tv goes up on the 16ft wall or the 12ft wall?
