And make sure you do not lose your data or setup.

I upgraded to Android (yep Android) from the iPhone 6. So I decided to exchange phones with the missus and take the iPhone 5S from her and setup her iPhone 5S on the 6.

    First up.

    - two laptops - Downloaded and installed latest iTunes on both.

    backup iPhone 6.jpg

Did a backup to iTunes. You can see it Syncing in this screen shot.

    backup iPhone 6 authorization.jpg

The system asked me for my pword and authorized the PC to back up all my apps and their data.

    backup iPhone 6 apps.jpg

As you can see, apps were being backed up to the PC.

Once backup was complete, I did a full erase on the iPhone from Settings - General - Reset - Erase all Content and settings.

After that completed and the phone was refreshed (to factory settings), swapped out the SIMs and started the log in process.

This all that I did -

Erase iPhone - Give password to itunes account etc.

After it resets and boots up to Hello screen, just went thru the menu till I reached here -

    Selected Restore from itunes backup

    Connected it to iTunes -

15 minutes later, both phones have been switched and nearly all settings have been maintained!

So here's a handy guide if you need to switch iPhones or exchange phones with a loved one!

    Cheers.

Oh, and another thing. You'll need the passwords and account details for each application that you have installed. So be prepared to setup/re login into each application.
