News HP introduces the Z1, the portable workstation for Hackers

    Hardware Hackers that is :p

    This was introduced in April 2012, however now has gone on sale globally. I wonder if its coming to India.

    What this essentially allows is that the workstation splits open like one of them Laser printers and allows for users to swap/upgrade parts inside easily.

    I think this makes for a great space saving idea, since generally all the space saving designs lack the possibility of an upgrade.

    Great thinking there.

    why do they say it's for hackers? what is hackerish about it?

    ^^ first line. Hardware hackers. It offers a unique item with regards to flexibility and future upgradibility. You can do RAID, upgrade etc.

    ^^ Its a slim PC like Mac, with the advantage of being disassembled at home without voiding warranty.

    Unfortunately the last time I checked, we can't build a slim PC ( all in one types ) can we now??

    There have been some supply in the htpc case market but slimline aio's are not available unless pre built..
