Micromax Canvas HD, Phablet for 15k

Micromax recently showcased their first Quad Core Phablet, the Canvas HD. With a 720p Resolution (1280x720), it just about qualifies for the HD tag. Though its an HD IPS panel, with 16.7 Million colors.


Interesting specs are the 1.2Ghz Quad Core MediaTek MT6589 processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

It has 1GB Ram, which is still good for any generic requirements. 4GB internal storage, expandable memory upto 64gb thru a Memory card.

An 8MP Camera at the back with an LED flash, and a 2MP front camera.

The battery just about cuts it at 2100mAh.

What makes it lucrative is the 15,000/- price tag. 14,999 to be exact

With a screen size / resolution equal to the S3, or HTC one X, this does shake up things a teenie weenie bit.

This phone has picked a really sweet time to pop up out of no where .. and its gained some intl. attention despite people still recovering from the stuff that happened at CES2013.

The Mediatek processor is the Quad Core A7 .. not a powerhouse but should get the job done.

 

its not a powerhouse, but its still better than all dual cores out there and the most power efficient as well !

Excellent phone for the price, what these companies have to do is improve build, service and general reputation in the market.

 

If the build of the A110 that I checked out was an indication, this could be a phone with extremely decent build quality!

Canvas comes on top pretty much all scores..

 

So its cheaper by 7k or so. Lacks in internal storage and dual sim. 4 vs 8.

Not too clear on the dual sim bit. However it's a phone to buy for anyone looking at a giant screen phone on a budget.

Yeah, Just do invest in a 16-32 gb card once purchased!!

 

They have booked over 9000 phones in the first 24 hours, and sold all of the first stock online within first 15 minutes.

 

Finally India is catching on !

 

you can't buy it off the shelf anywhere. It's in such a huge demand.

you will have to buy it online from micromax or FlipKart, and wait for them to deliver it to your place.

But do go for it, it's a great phone!

Ahaa. .

 

He has time to buy it, in no rush, and upgrading from an E63 after 4 years, I think it's worth that extra 1 month wait even, rather than buying a Galaxy Grand for 21k!
