In what could be seen as the biggest restructuring plan for Microsoft, they are looking at approximately 18,000 employees over the next 6 months. Out of these, 12,500 would be Nokia employees, and it also means, pretty much the end of Nokia as a brand/company. The other fall out is that now the Nokia X series of phones, which were promising (at least to me ) would be shelved soon. I was sincerely hoping to get my hands on an X2, lets see. Sad, sad news for the industry. Hope these people find suitable jobs soon. Though according to Satya Nadella, the company would be giving proper severance packages etc.
I don't know or mind about Microsoft, it's the Nokia employees that I'm feeling bad about. Such a company, so much potential, all wasted away because they didn't feel that Symbian would go away anytime soon
lol, they wrote their own death warrant. M$ has ?#@*&%!^$~ed up every company they have ever bought besides skype, which is similar to M$ in it's policies.
