January 13th 2015 to be exact. No further security patches, or releases will be made after that. This covers all versions of Windows 7. Businesses that run Windows 7, can pay for support, that will extend it another 5 years till 2020. Having used windows right from 3.0-3.1 to Windows 8.0 and 8.1. I can safely say that Windows 7 was the best OS that Microsoft could come out with. Windows 8/8.1 is stable and new, but not Windows 7. Period. Looking forward to Windows 9/Threshold
oh well, they will iron out windows 8 issues and rebrand it as windows 9. I hope linux will catch up and have all the games working
See that's the bit. I've not seen any issues with Windows 8, it boots up fast, is stable as hell no crash in the last 7 months now that I've been using it. The issues are a) UI b) absence of a proper start menu c) difficult to open multiple explorer windows from the desktop d) The Start menu is pretty much useless, since for something you have to go to the control panel, and for something you have to navigate from the Start panel. It's like a confused mixed breed that's trying too hard.
What the friggin frikk .. Microsoft better recant this decision immediately if they don't want get ?#@*&%!^$~ed over by their enterprise users.
This is a good thing, they will irritate everyone and eventually die a horrible death. I am all up for it.
Ouch. Windows, 8 is still suffering from so many compatibility issues. With the minimal gaming time I have now, I might switch to linux as primary OS.
