News Microsoft to invest 70 Million $ in Cyanogen

    Which could be a bit of a surprise to many, since they have their own competing OS which has about 3% of the market share (windows phone).

    From what I understand, the good bit about Cyanogen is that it modifies the Android source code in such a manner, that removes/changes the security and privacy restrictions by Google. Which is a mixed bag thing.

    Though I am all for privacy oriented, non-user tracking mobile OS of yore (symbian for instance), this is an interesting move on behalf of Microsoft.

    How it will pan out, time will tell, but meanwhile it is good to know that Cyanogen is getting its due and there is another player in the mobile OS arena.

    CM is fully open source.
    google android has some restrictions.
