    Hey,

I was looking to buy a 40 - 42 inch HDTV. Recently bought Sansung 51PE5000 so need something for my room now.

    Purpose -

    1. PS3 gaming
    2. Movies via hdmi

It has to be full HD 1080p

    Budget - 30k-35k.

Please advice with models which i can buy. Do i need to increase budget or will i get something decent in this range ?

    Thanks in advance.

You can consider the Panasonic viera that I got last year. You have seen the performance also and it's got all the Wi-Fi ready and other features.

Was 42k last year. And comes with 3 years warranty!!

Panasonic and LG use IPS which is not that good in terms of blacks and contrast, these are two important things for movie viewing.Panasonic is good but compared to samsung SPVA and sharp's u2va panel it has certain disadvantages.

IPS is great when used in general purpose displays like phones and laptops or when used in monitors.

Infact Panasonic has already announced that they will be moving out of LCD business. Panasonic is now, only good for Plasmas.

Brothers, have found these same models from some other buyer. He is offering better price + free shipping, Though he is having few -ve comments on Ebay & he is from Delhi only. The only difference between SAMSUNG 42" UA 42EH5000 LED TV & SAMSUNG UA40EH6000R 40-Inch Full HD LED TV is Price & CMR.

    Samsung 5000 - 120 CMR / 37,399 - 42"
    Samsung 6000 - 240 CMR / 36,499- 40"

    Please suggest

Whats the actual refresh rate for these panels .. in Hertz. I think it will be around 60 only.
    CMR is Samsung lingo

coolcatric - Get the 240 CMR .. it should have 120hz refresh rate .. which will be good for your Gaming.

i was reading on this CMR thing online.

CMR is samsung lingo as mentioned by you. But Dividing CMR / 2 is wrong interpretation. Dont know how to find exact Hz rate of these sammy's. Anyways, will 60Hz & 120Hz make significant difference. ?

    Check here

    What is the Refresh Rate?

The Table shows the comparison between CMR n RR .. (though I don't know how accurate it is).
Best to approach the Samsung guy with this knowledge.
