As we all know that mysql is one of the reasons Oracle bough Sun microsystem. Their idea was to finish the competition completely. When Sun bought Mysql from it's creator, they followed the open source path and made sources available to the community. Mysql made all it's cash from support, which is to say is one of the biggest source of Income for pretty much entire IT industry. However, years back the three original creators of Mysql forked mysql and created MariaDB. Maria is the name of Monty's(one of the founders) daughter, now since oracle is being the giant douche that it is, is trying to close source the Mysql and not opening details about security or any other issues. So Fedora community is moving to MariaDB and this is a community decision. Once Fedora moves on Maria, Redhat enterprise server will follow. Redhat holds one of the biggest market for database based server, it is inevitable that Canonical and Suse will follow the lead of Redhat. This will be hilarious for Oracle. I hope it turns out the way it appears on surface. For once scums like these should get for what they did to others(Redhat et al).

Monty has last laugh as distros abandon MySQL
