So I need to back up my stuff on my hard drives. Though a 3TB would be great, I don't want to put all my TeraBytes into one HardDrive.

Or Should I buy like 2x1TBs both USB powered? Too much of a hassle though.

What would you guys suggest? Go portable and USB powered? Or buy powered?

Any good deals going around? Reliable stuff please!

    Thanks in advance.

    Portable USB powered
    Also :
USB 3.0 (even if you can't use it right now)
2.5" drive (most USB powered ones are)

    But there's a Rs1K appox price difference..

Rs5100-5200 for 2 TB external power
Appox 6-6.2K for 2.5" USB Powered.

    4k sounds a good price for a 1TB.

    So 2 of these ~ 8.2k vs 6 something for a single 2TB.

    Gosh Darn!

Will you be carrying all your HDDs around ?

With me it's more like a Bigger disk space External powered & a smaller one USB for portability. Like in your case you can go for 2 TB External powered and 1 TB USB for carrying around.

Buffalo 1TB is available Here for a little less than 4k/-.

    Good question mate.

I will be keeping the 2TB in the house, essentially not moving it around much and using it for dumping stuff. I do intend buying a 1TB for storage on the go.

My minimum storage requirement at this point is 2TB, the 1 TB would be needed to supplement this.

So yes, essentially I would be needing 1x2TB external powered or portable (if cheap) and 1x1TB portable.

Okay, So I am finalizing on the Buffalo 1TB portable, and the WD 2 TB. Total around 9.5k?

    I was quited 5999/- for a Seagate 1TB USB 3.0 and 8200/- for a Seagate powered 2TB at eZone.

there was a dilapidated iOmega 1TB lying in one corner (USB 2.0) for 4500/-

Why the F would I buy from there!

Bought a WD 1TB USB 3.0 for 3750/- and a powered WD My book 3 TB for 9285/-

And to think that 13 years ago I was excited at the prospect of a 3.2 or a 6.4 GB hard drive.

16 years back all my friends used to go GaGa over the huge 1.2 GB Hard drive that I had!!
