And these images are currently not available anywhere else - The premium model with alloy wheels and chrome detailing (15 inch wheels). The Base model, still to get wheel caps fitted The front of the vehicles. I like the Kizashi inspired front grille. The DRLs go to an interesting spot, on either side of the airdam. The front overhang reminds me of the the Alto K10 for some reason. Observations - Both vehicles are proportional to the segment, i20 being the benchmark. The rear appears more VW Polo inspired, though bigger. Priced right, these machines are going to sell big big time! Feel free to share, but don't forget to mention source!
Well I expect the same 1.3 liter Diesel Fiat unit to do duty, probably tuned to make as much as the Ciaz with 90PS and 200 Nm of Torque. The Petrol could be sold in 2 variants, with a 1.2 and a 1.4 engine. The interesting bit would be that the 1.2 produces nearly the same power, but with much lower torque, as the 1.4 Petrol. The 1.2 K series engine is good for 84 PS and 115 Nm of Torque. But the 1.4 can do better, with 92 PS of power and marginally better torque at 130 Nm. I hope Maruti are wise enough to launch this with the 1.4 from the Ciaz. However to meet excise reduction, they would in all probability go with the 1.2L engine and save the 12% duty. Which would make the petrol pretty anemic to be honest. Auto transmission would be a welcome, though in all probability it is expected.
