At 14 inches and 4 pounds (1.83 Kgs), it is pretty slim and light weight with a thickness of under an Inch (0.66in or roughly 1.7 cms).

With the latest Intel i7 Quad Core processor, 8 Gigs of DDR3 at 1600 mhz, and a GTX765M graphics processor it does pack a decent punch for it's size.

The 14 inch screen is matt (which I love), with a resolution of 1600x900.

Backlit keys, Giant Stereo Speakers on either side, which are reviewed to be extremely loud.

    3xUSB 3.0, HDMI out.

Wifi, Blue tooth, HD web cam etc.

    What it's missing -

    - SD card reader
    - Optical Drive
    - Storage (Comes with 128GB SSD standard, but can be upgraded to 256 or 512 GB SSD).

I would have liked a 1TB storage drive atleast. A 128GB SSD won't store many games, neither would a 256GB for that matter.

What this does serve as is a Laptop that is up for gaming, as well as a powerful and compact Desktop replacement. Me like.

    Prices start at 1800$

Forgot to mention, has a 70Whr Battery, that gives around 2.5 hours of gaming time (tested by some). I am guessing 1.5 hours or so on an intense game like Crysis.

Pics from the Razer Website -

It sure has got the Looks & The specs are no doubt Killer. The price, although on the higher side, may be justified if it lives up to its standards. Nice Job Razer.

in 14 inches? That would be something. But then the 1600x900 resolution does allow for better framerate than 1920x1080

My only concern is the cooling system of such Laptops .. gaming Laptops are bulky for a good reason .. they need the bigger exhaust ports & fans.

There are no Exhaust Vent on the sides and given the similarity to the MBP I reckon the vent would be under the screen hinge.

Unless Razer has comeup with some NASA level of cooling tech I doubtful that it would survive that thermal stress.

When I was working for Dell we had a lot of returns (people simply wanted to get refund) on gaming laptops specially the XPS1310 (they called it an XPS gaming machine lol) It was compact yet had high failure rate/heating issues. Remember kido4man selling his? The one you mentioned is even thinner. Gaming on a laptop is an oxymoron :D

They are crunching 1920x1080 resolution in 5" Mobile Screens now (htc Butterfly, Sony Xperia Z).
14" is ample space to do it...

Its the visual scalability of the apps which is problematic ... Unless you up the Windows PPI .. everything looks soon tiny.

Though given the cost one I might exact fHD but 1600x900 is fine for a 14" Display IMO.
