Interesting vehicle.

 

Wow... serious vehicle...
From what I can tell.. more like a crossover (part SUV / part Car)
Subaru has some interesting ones (crossovers).. but haven't seen them in India

Lots of trunk space for my fans tho.. I likey

JD666 looks like it could have managed some off-roading with a better suspension & turbos ... sadly no 4x4.

Trust me, this car is win win. And anyone with a 8-11 Lakh budget has to consider it!!!

The issue is that 95% of people dont take their SUVs off road, thats why XUV is a hit, or a RWD scorpio, or for that matter TATA had to sell a cheaper 4x2 version of Safari. The CRV and other "soft offroaders" are a testament to this concept.

This is bang on in Scorprio/Safari territory.

What it does not offer is the same space/seating capacity.

What it does offer is reliability, refinement and great performance.

For your requirements, this vehicle is win. ( 2 to seat, driver to drive, A/C in the back, and tons of space, and the status to flaunt!

This is bigger than Eco sport, and squatter. To put it into perspective, its only about as tall as a Tata Nano. The Ecosport is taller, shorter and has lesser overhang.

Also this is around 1310 kgs, so it would be heavier than the Eco sport.



There is a 4x4 version sold abroad, but the same is not on offer in India.

According to what the people at the showroom were saying, that the max bookings they are looking at/getting are for the middle model of the lower diesel ( 85 bhp, 9 lakhs ex-showroom ), and for the top diesel top model ( 110 bhp, 11Lakhs ex show room ).

Rather than having a more powerful engine, they are going for the feature packed, lesser powerful diesel.

 

Waiting for a TD myself... but supposedly autocar tested this and found that this is faster than XUV500 even in in 20-80 in 3rd and 40-100 in 4th!!! 0-100 around 12 seconds!! ( top model diesel )

 

interiors are not really good? looks like an inexpensive one.
