A re-badged Logan, but a much better looking Logan. Ironically, still a Logan :D

The vehicle has better lines, legendary interior space and boot space. Comes with a no frills 16V 1.5 Litre Petrol engine that puts out 105 Bhp at 5750 rpm with 145 Nm of torque at 3750. These low RPM figures should ideally translate into quite decent fuel economy as well. Not to forget that the vehicle weighs only around 1010 Kgs for the base model.

    First up some pictures -

The side flared fenders do little to hide the Logan roots, but at least add character. The headlight and tail light treatment is definitely an improvement.

The Symbol runs on 15 inch wheels (185/65 profile tires), which do enhance the stance of the vehicle.

The interiors are not too badly appointed either. The top variant comes with a multimedia/touchscreen/navigation system plus Auto Climate Control.

Think of it as a refined Logan.

That rich families love to drive around in.

And it boosts their image as well.

The Symbol starts around 6.6 Lakhs for the base model here. (which comes with a 4 Speed Auto and Driver's Air Bag).

If launched correctly, this could be the ideal replacement to the Logan, which sadly was mechanically very sound, but looked hideous. Hope Renault consider this in their expansion plans for India.

Oh, I forgot to mention, it has a 510 liter boot, which is huge for a sedan in its segment.
