What could be the most exciting news to to come from Honda, is a CBR400 in the works. For those who haven't heard much about the CBR400RR legacy, Ill sum it up as short as I can. A 90s bike, no fuel injection or gizmo gadgetry, 4 cylinder, 400cc, 4 carburetor engine. Tuning the Carbs could be a PITA, but it made 55 bhp! Revved like mad to 15,000 + rpm, and had a 0-100 kmph time of around 4 seconds. And it could do 100 kmph in 1st gear!! Here are some pics of the old bike And here are some rumored pics of a new CBR400 in the making. The RR stood for Race replica. The new one is anticipated to be a inline twin ( a la the Ninja 250 ). However producing around 45-50 bhp. The images that the magazine has shared are - Looks too good to be true, however the exhaust is stolen from the VFR/CBR250 family, and the front is not so Honda after all. The tyres look slimmer than what it should be shod with. Either its a great photoshop job, or else there could something really be cooking at Honda. If this happens, then there could be a big step for Honda in India even. Looking at the sales of the Honda single 250, if this is priced around 2.2-2.5L and kills the Ninja 250 in performance, its a win win. Also this will work as a great intermediate bike for someone looking at seriously upgrading to a 600cc or a Litre class motorcycle. Currently the Indian scenario either offers the ninja250 at the lower end of the performance segment ( which gets sadly outdone by the CBR250 in pure value for money proposition ). However the intermediate segments are quite limited with motorcycles like the Ninja 650R, or the Hyosung GT650 or the Ducati. ( and all are around the 5 Lakhs bracket or more. tagging Aargee --- Post Merged: Jun 26, 2012 7:43 PM --- Why this does look like a PS job, since one image of the bike shows petal discs, and the other one shows normal regular disc brakes.
