The first thing I install is Google Chrome.
After that I install the following
    • AV (AVG)
    • VLC
    • iTunes
    • K Lite codec
    • uTorrent
    • MS Office
    • Jave (jre and jdk)
    • Winrar
    • Nero Start Smart (CD burning)
    • Lexmark printer's interface
    • Orbit (for larger files, don't use much)
    • CCleaner
    • Adobe flash player and reader
The above are the basic things which I need at first.

Any app to underclocke GPU .. I have a 2yr old Sony Vaio with an ATI 5650 .. It generates a lot of heat 60+ degrees constantly.

I want to minimize its power consumption ..

moreover dbg i would suggest that u get your lappy serviced either by yourself(if you know how to dissassemble your lappy) else take it to service centre, because the ehating problem is due to the accumulation of dirt and due to the thermal interface material losing its useful properties.

downclocking in this case is not going to help you much sadly :(

Dont ask bro. Its just that i am so used to all the settings and plethora of softwares installed that if i try to reinstall everything i wont be able to bring it to the present level. Also i havent faced any issues till now except some slow booting time
