we can make the bar float on the bottom ...cant we ?
MOZ 's concern was in its present position/size.. when you jump to a post, the top bar overlaps the first line of text of the post ..
I believe this can be fixed..
harryneopotter - The bottom placed floating bar would hide the "Like" , "Reply" when the Alerts notification is opened up ie with respect to the current being read.
Like has been corrected
Moz youre getting exceptionally good at this..
I will ask you to READ all posts from now on ! coz it is disturbing to say again and again !
see this screenshot, this is what I see of the first new post when I click a thread title from what's new !!
so can you read what you have posted ? I can't..
why coz my default for scrolling is set for one page view for one click ! and even if its 3 lines to 7 lines, I will have to go to the scroll bar and then get the right position like this ( mentioned in the attachment again !)
Now got it as to why it is a bother, I am amazed that you all can live with this irritating bar always floating !
Change your scrolling to a page change and you will reach the top faster and also clicking the insta alert baloon on the left bottom of the screen will take you to the top !
plus the top button will also take you to the top,
one thing I can do is check if a 'got to top' can be added to every post.

Now you see it !!! ??
the forum takes to a POST header !! it will not be displaced as it gets to change a lot of default behaviour of the forum software !
I know what you mean. Although most people do not have the mouse setup as you, so for most people it is a single mouse wheel up unlike your case, so I think let it be, if a lot of people find it irritating, then we can remove it and I will post in the XF forums and see for a solution there too.
+1, its quite ok for normal usage.
Did you even take a moment to realize the benefits of a top-floating bar ?
As for the one-page per scroll, 95% of the users wont use that kind of scrolling .. and yes for users without a mouse its a definet advantage to have a top bar accessible at all times.
And not just the Alerts notification.. the Inbox and Profile Menu .. all are accessible even when they are not relevant to the current post.
If I want to start a new conversation I can do so without jumping around the page from top to bottom ..
Somewhere the importance of less clicking has been lost ..
I read all your posts before replying .. so dont take much away atleast.
Lastly, if its possible to keep it floating on a per user basis .. then I would like to keep it for myself.
The fixed theme needs to be fixed. search bar is overlapping the alerts on the forum main page.
Nothing has been done in the Fixed theme yet, we are completing the fluid one first, then we'll get onto the fixed. I might have trick up my sleeve to copy all the work from the fluid to the fixed in a click.
this is the profile page right??
Nothing in the notification email takes user to the raid

He had put up a email notification for his thread, whenever someone replies.
He is getting the email in his account ( gmail ), however the links/hyperlinks in the email are not leading him anywhere. Nothing is happening when he clicks on the hyperlinks highlighted in the SS.
Then he maybe using plain email and not html mail
Using fullblown email, all notifications from other sites work great.
