I know gaming for today's child is on an iPad or a console, but before all that when Atari was a novelty and RiverRaid and Frogger were the games to play, or pong for that matter, there were a lot of games that were enjoyed, that involved some pieces of plastic, a huge board, dice or some other form of numerical counter. I remember playing board games like Scrabble, Guess the pattern, Battleship, Monopoly ( still play it on my cell and with my niece, though now she has credit cards for money transfer instead of actualy paper money ). And Snakes and Ladders, Never really good at Ludo, though my wife loves it, and plays it at a blazing speed. There used to be a game with marbles and a plastic disc where the marbles would be placed in such a manner that you would jump one marble over the other, and eliminate the marble skipped over ( forgetting the name, brainvita or something ). Though the Plastic disc did make for a great Frisbee to be honest. There was an Atari gaming console ( the one with the joystick and the one single red button ). And it was the coolest thing ever!!!! Remember playing for endless hours on it. And then around 1993-94 came the coolest thing, Sega and the other Indian console gaming (Media! ). I remember playing endless hours of Felix the cat, TMNT, Alladin, Sonic the Hedgehog, Simba( Lion King ). Duck hunt and Clay shoot were personal favourites. And how can I forget Contra!!! Lets go back and re-visit that childhood of ours! What were the games you played while growing up. Cheers!!!
