This thread is specifically to discuss upcoming/great online talent. These artists have re-done great/popular songs in their own style, and have given it a new dimension. Once we like a song, we always look for as many different versions of it as possible, to try and experience further variations/iterations of the same thing. Here I begin - The original - O re Piya from Aaja Nach le - Rolling in the deep by Adele - The remake/re-hash , and a great one of that -
Another popular one - Original - WHy this Kolaveri di - A song that had this nation gripped the whole of last year and this year as well. And a remake done by idutt ( Raid101 member ) sister -
A great personal favourite of mine - Aaj jaane ki zid na karo - Sung by many, most popular of which was Farida Khanum ( though she was not the first singer of this , original singer was Habib Wali mohammad). The original - A great shrutibox release - Great Great! - The Clarinet is great in this one! A coke studio release -Slightly off, but still very listenable. The Shikanji Studio version -( Deep respect ! ) And a commercial version, sung by Richa Sharma ( She's from my town, Faridabad! Yay! )
So this is a "Share the best cover version that've you heard" thread right .. ?? initpidzero - I think song covers too.
Cover is when you provide proper credit to the artist and say it's your version of thier song. A very popular practice in rock n roll world Nicking is when you copy the entire composition and change the lyrics and call it your own song, A very popular practice in hindi cinema.
Example of nicking Anu malik: Los del Rio --- Double Post Merged, Aug 4, 2012 --- Example of Cover Metallica Bob Seger
Here are some more from my side- Original - Wadali brothers - And a young kid who can give them a run for their money. What talent, and that too at what a young age! --- Double Post Merged, Aug 6, 2012 --- And an indication of this boys talent. even if you don't get the lyrics, just listen to his voice. The depth, and simply reaches out to your heart.
The original - Lambi Judaai - Sung by Reshma way back in 1983 for Hero. And two great reworked versions - The flute is really haunting in this song.
The original done by Rahman way back in 97 IIRC - And the cover - Superb work. Just to imagine that all the sound/music is being generated by the guys in the background. Superb, a must view!!
