Posting this live from a police station. (No I dint get into any criminal activities) Just realizing the harsh conditions these people have to endure. Long hours, less pay, constant involvement with people and their issues upfront and personal. They are understaffed and over worked. No wonder corruption would be a necessary evil to keep the cogs turning. They could've been a lot more polite in their behaviour But constant oppression and exploitation by seniors have made them insensitive. Not just the men, the women as well. And the cycle resumes when they become seniors. It's surely a safe dependable career option, But not for those from well affluent families. Very rarely would you see someone not from a police background joining the police forces. It's a messy job, But hey someone has to do it. I feel that the powers that are, should pay more attention towards providing for our police forces, increase salaries, manpower, reduce working hours So that there is still some sensitivity left in this line of work. It's a good retort that we pay their salaries from our taxes and they are public servants But to allow them to carry out their work properly we need to be more aware of their environment as well. We all picture cops simply drinking and sleeping and lounging around in their underwear all day in the station. Lol, such is the case But what goes into pushing it till there is what no one notices.
