For me Alieware hardly qualifies as a laptop, more of a luggable desktop rig.

    Lappies are for lazy people.

I would rather get a i3 based MicroATX ghetto setup than blowing 500$ on a laptop with 1/4th the processing power.

^ I will never ever use laptop as the Primary. In fact, i asked wifey today that should i get lappy for portability. She said you will sell it after a week and make another desktop, so that is the point ;)

Laptop will only be a backup once I have 2-3 rigs up and running.

And even if I do get a laptop, it will never be an Alienware.

I do have a laptop actually, technically my Wife paid for it.
It is decent but is just okay.

What I like about the laptop is portability but then just for portability for a *home* computer makes no sense unless you are a Gypsy changing bases every month.

For once in couple of years a Desktop makes more sense.

Potability can be fixed with a cheap mini-ITX case and maybe a pico PSU.

Everything else can go as checkin luggage. Heavy? Throw some food items out or some useless clothes :p

Yep...Great Display. No lag. Amazing Camera. And lots of handy itsy-bitsy features.
Plus it fits your palm and pocket like a charm. The size is just plain perfect. Enjoying it.

Online research and showed it to one of the computer shops guys here in Jo'burg. Surprising thing, was he knew his stuff, unlike in India, where shops are run by lalas
