MY EDC was needing a much needed overhaul, so I have these in the mail now: 1. Swiss+Tech Utili-Key 2. eGear PICO Zipper Light, Titanium 3. Leatherman Wave 4. SOG TWITCH II, straight edge 5. PQI Tiffy 16gb
Decided not to get rOtring 600 as it didn't have a retractable sleeve. I will be getting these instead: 1. Uni KuroToga, this one is unique as it has a rotating mechanism to keep the lead equally "worn" from all angles. 2. Pentel Graph Gear 1000 - Classic drafting pencil with a very sturdy build, it is no rOtring, but does feature a retractable sleeve for half the price.
My recent addition has been a blackberry portable battery pack. Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
So the EDC extreme makeover kicks off today with the Pentel GraphGear 1000 Since exams are coming, hopefully this brings in some much needed luck. This pencil is very solid, I think it will survive a nuclear strike, but seriously, very well built, the retracting sleeve mechanism is sweet and works well, easy to carry in a pocket, without having to worry about stabbing yourself. I knurled grip with rubber inserts works well, combing the feel of metal and grippiness of rubber perfectly. Very happy with the purchase, and got this from Chinese seller on Ebay in less than a week.
This isn't a clutch pencil as per say as it is 0.5mm, not really onto clutch pencils as they are thick, and since my handwriting is small, thick tips just make it hard to read what I write. I also have a kuro-toga rotational pencil, that is a unique one as everytime you lift the pencil it rotates it by a certain angle to keep the lead tip evenly angled all round. it has been shipped, should be here in a week or so.
Well, I am talking about these babies, perhaps I used the more layman term. I meant was mechanical pencils. I also use 0.5 MM as well since the first year. (circa 2001)
That's a good pencil. Had a similar one in school, the Japanese and Korean would use these awesome mechanical pencils and I knew I had to get one some day. My eyes are set on a rOtring 800, but that beauty is expensive, I'll get it when I start earning
Well, I have passed my engineering with a similar pencil. Actually mechanical pencil from camelin or something. Steadler and Faber Castell were expensive. But now I own three of them. I was pretty good when drawing Orthogonal or Isometric views of components. There were only few who used those rotoring pencils and compass. They were freaking accurate but they took forever to draw. In Engineering, there is one thing you never have? It is the bloody time. It is always raining fire and storm.
Yes, time is hard to find, a rarity, I'm not saying you need a fancy pencil for engineering, hell I'm not even going to be using this at college. The Rs.3 ball pen will do fine.
Got the Kuru Toga Roulette Black. Pencil is quite good and sturdy, I can somewhat tell the effect of the rotation, but not sure if it is placebo at this point. The knurled grip is a little short in length for my liking but very well made and grippy. My only real wish with this pencil is if the top barrel would have been metallic too. The orange window shows you how much the tip has rotated. All-in-all a very good pencil.
