So I'm getting the notification for 'free upgrade' to WIN 8.1. But before doing this irreversible step, I just wanna be double sure whether to go ahead with the update or not?

Anyone using 8.1? How's the experience been yet? I searched online, but found nothing detailed enough that mentioned it was worthwhile, other than the fact that you cannot see your apps being updated in the background anymore. Typical.

Second thought in my mind is to first carry it out on the Missus' laptop, and then see how it goes >:)

    Update done. 3.77Gb
There were a lot of privacy settings that I had to disable or un tick,

The start menu is Okay. But not What I was expecting.

No other major ground shaking changes.

I still have to check Skype operation. Previously you could either be full screen or half, and the video would not get divided correctly or resized for that matter. This should hopefully fix things.
