In a move to expand their customer base by allowing users of pirated copies of their windows operating systems, Microsoft is offering their latest release for a mere 1999 rs!

And most importantly it's the pro version and they do not check whether your previous installation is legit or not. Your system should have a windows installation. Not sure if it's only for windows 7 only or xp also is included.

I'm not too happy with the OS, but I do like their marketing strategy to expand their customer base and bring more customers under their official umbrella.

Anyone upgraded yet? Or planning an upgrade??

Windows 8 isn't all that bad. They did make a mistake by not having a start menu (Even optional). The learning curve is slightly steep if you are on a non-touch device, but it is pretty evident that MS have a vision in mind, unifying the interface on all MS based devices, and it ain't a bad one to be honest.

I would suggest people to switch to Windows 8 and get Start8 to go with it.

P.S: No Windows 8 is not the Vista after XP.

The steep learning curve is not tempting at all. I think the primary reason for installing a new OS is better means to an end, don't wanna follow a tutorial to do simple shit like checking email . Plus the email metro shit only works with hotmail! I don't want to switch over to something i dumped years ago.. it was sluggish as shit.
